After Bert’s update about what’s going on with Cross Pens, we got a notification of their newest upcoming Zodiac pen. Unfortunately, it won’t be available until later in the summer. However, I want to share with you in advance the new Cross Year Of The Tiger 2022 Pen Collection. Most notably, it’s only available as a rollerball and ballpoint in the Townsend body. Can you believe there’s no fountain pen?! Originating in 2012, this is the 11th release in Cross’ Zodiac series.
First of all, the Cross Year Of The Tiger 2022 Pen Collection is hand-crafted with stunning original artwork in luxurious lacquer finishes. Enjoy a deep, rich red on this one. These special edition pens celebrate the strong character traits of courage and ambition. In addition, even if you’re not into Zodiac signs, having a tiger on your pen is pretty cool. I still maintain the pen should be orange like a tiger.
Secondly, the Cross Year of the Tiger Collection commemorates the third sign in the Zodiac, which has offered a window into personality traits and prospects for the future for over 2000 years. Those born under the Tiger sign are known for being courageous, ambitious and adventurous. They have a positive outlook and enjoy challenging new experiences. Each exquisite pen in the series is a special collector’s item and a meaningful gift to be cherished for a lifetime.
Finally, as I mentioned, these are only available in rollerball and ballpoint. So the rollerball has a friction fit cap closure system. It feels oh-so-satisfying to click shut. Not to mention the Cross rollerball refills are available in black, blue, red, or purple color choices with one point size. On the bright side, those refills are smooth as silk to write with. Speaking of smooth, the ballpoint employs a smooth twist-action retraction that is easy to do one-handed with this longer pen. At least with the ballpoint refills you have actual options (i.e. our favorite Monteverde Cross Style ballpoint refills). The Monteverde ones are available in all the color options you could want.
If you’re interested in more information or to reserve yours, please call or email Bert at the store. Thanks!
