I’m so excited about this (new to me) company called Gallery Leather! They make some really elegant leather-bound journals. Whenever a new paper company pops on my radar, it’s so fun to explore their possibilities of paper configuration. Gallery Leather is a company in Maine that started out as a small shop. Now it’s a larger company that employs around 35 people, and is over 40 years old. I really like my Gallery Leather Desk Journal! After getting mine (in the grid pattern), that’s when I did some research on the company and found that I like their values.
First of all, I decided to use my Gallery Leather Desk Journal to enter my latest fad of writing fun motivational quotes. This lets me explore and test different fountain pen and ink combinations on their paper. So far I only have a few entries, yet the paper feels pleasant enough to write on with fountain pens. Importantly, using your ballpoint pens and pencils provides an equally enjoyable experience.
Secondly, the leather cover is impressive. It’s made of high-quality, Spanish bonded leather. The soft cover gives personality to your journal, and makes it easy to bend or flex as you desire. Gallery leather desk journals are bound, glued, and stitched into a refined journal. Its pages are ivory colored, and acid-free.
Third, with almost 200 pages included in this journal, you have plenty of room for creativity. Also noteworthy, I like the “standard size” of 8” x 5.5”. It’s easy to grab and go for portability and storage, and also isn’t obnoxiously big.
Finally, the color choices of the leather cover are succinct. There’s Acadia Black, Acadia Tan, Acadia Green, Camden Red, and Key West Turquoise. I’m very happy with my traditional looking Acadia Tan. It almost has that “old school” or “vintage” journal look and feel.
