Elegant and minimalist – the design and functionality of the fountain pen have proven themselves for over 100 years. Inspired by the simple design of the Lilliput, the “big brother” was created in 1920. A variably adjustable fountain pen whose weight and length can be perfectly tailored to your personal taste thanks to a removable adapter. While I definitely enjoy the Lilliput, I love how much larger, substantial, and customizable the Supra is. You could even say it’s supra dupra, haha. The newest color in the Supra line, the Kaweco Supra Black Fountain Pen, is sleek and stealthy.
First of all, the Kaweco Supra Black Fountain Pen is lightweight yet robust. It is another high quality fountain pen in the series. The black anodized surface with a satin brushed look gives the pen a particularly pleasant feel and high scratch resistance.
Importantly, it’s CNC-machined from solid yet lightweight aluminum. In other words, the first-class writing tool is almost indestructible and ensures a lifetime of writing pleasure. Similarly, the weight, length and diameter of the pen are perfectly balanced and do not tire your hand even after long periods of writing. The effortless writing experience is enhanced by a large 250 nib unit. Therefore, due to the size of the nib, the pressure on the desk pad is slightly cushioned, ensuring buttery-smooth gliding over the paper.
Importantly, depending on your writing style, you can choose between five nib sizes. Choose from: extra fine, fine, medium, broad, and double broad. Above all, while the extra fine nib (EF) is particularly suitable for small and delicate handwriting, the extra wide nib (BB) is often used for large and dramatic signatures.
Finally, for the perfect finishing touch, the Kaweco Supra can be further customized with a matching clip in black, silver or bronze. However, I’m torn between the matching black and the contrasting (yet stylish bronze) clip. I’d recommend filling it with a contrasting purple ink, like Monteverde’s Purple Reign bottled ink.
