Montegrappa creates some of the most amazing, intricate limited edition writing instruments. I love their use of different materials, and wild designs. Speaking of wild – their newest is the Montegrappa Wild Arctic Limited Edition Pen Collection.
First of all, Project WILD and Montegrappa depart Africa in search of cooler climes. Their newest collaboration with wildlife photographers and campaigners, Helle and Uri Løvevild Golman, ventures to the Arctic. That’s where climactic extremes are as different as day and night. The WILD Nature Foundation founders’ devotion to theworld’s most remote locations highlights what we all stand to lose. Two-tone Montegrappite in this Montegrappa Wild Arctic Limited Edition Pen Collection emulates the moods of the threatened region in dazzling shades of blue. Their proprietary artisanal resin offers efficiencies that reduce the waste of conventional acrylics.
Secondly, is the ‘Ghost of the Arctic’: the snowy owl’s wing feather. This wing feather is a staple of all Project WILD editions. A custom steel clip symbolizes the fragility of nature. It also symbolizes Helle and Uri’s enduring efforts to preserve it. “What you love ⋅ You will protect.” is engraved into the cap top. Project WILD’s mantra and expedition patch offers direction – and a reminder that love is always the answer.
Spread the word. Notably, this is a limited edition of 999 fountain pens, rollerballs and ballpoints. They are accompanied by a selection of postcards featuring Project WILD’s finest polar wildlife images.
Finally, these fountain pens fill via cartridge and/or converter. Enjoy Montegrappa’s smooth 18k gold nib. Choose from: extra fine, fine, medium, broad, or 1.1 stub. I recommend filling it with Monteverde’s Sweet Life Iced Cookie ink to match. Both fountain pen and rollerball have a threaded cap and barrel for easy attachment and removal. The ballpoint is equipped with a smooth twist-action retraction mechanism. I recommend using Monteverde’s Parker Style ballpoint or gel refills.
