When you think of TWSBI pens, what comes to mind? For me, it’s immediately imagining a demonstrator pen. Most TWSBI pens are mostly see through. However, with the release of their limited editions, TWSBI changed all that to make solid color resin pens. First was their limited edition Aurora. It is a beautiful green all over the cap and barrel. Next up was the Draco. We got to enjoy a deep marbled red with that one. Now we’re introduced to the TWSBI Kai Limited Edition Fountain Pen.
First of all, the TWSBI Kai Limited Edition Fountain Pen is a limited edition fountain pen made of dark blue speckled acrylic with rose gold plated trim. Notably similar to the marbling of the Draco, this deep blue is truly a sight to behold in person. There’s something wonderful about a blue pen contrasting with rose gold trim.
In addition, the Kai has a rose gold-plated stainless steel nib that is similar in size to the TWSBI 580 nib. Choose from: extra fine, fine, medium, and broad nib sizes.
Above all, the pen has a piston ink-filling mechanism and all parts are detachable. It also has an ink window so you can see how much ink is left. I recommend filling it with Private Reserve’s Cosmic Cobalt. That blue ink will look great sloshing around the ink window. As you may know from TWSBI’s other pens, the high capacity ink reservoir will keep you writing for quite some time.
Finally, while this is a limited edition, I haven’t seen how many will be made in total. Regardless, this is one special TWSBI that you don’t want to miss out on.
