Do you remember the first Visconti Skeleton pen collection? The Skeleton launched more than 20 years ago. It was characterized by a filigree design based on the combination of the stylized Visconti logo. Notably, the resin underneath the filigree was available in three colors: orange, black, and clear. I always thought they were so cool. However, my favorite was the clear resin underneath, so you could see the inner mechanics of your pen. Therefore, sourcing inspiration from the Visconti archives, this Visconti Skeleton 2023 Pen Collection limited edition is modeled after one of Visconti’s most memorable and complex designs: the Skeleton.
First of all, this new Visconti Skeleton 2023 Pen Collection brings the “skeletonisation” technique back to its original inspiration, the human skeleton. As if taken from an X-ray, the sterling silver filigree of organic design stands out against a contrasting colored resin, outlining the shape of the 12 pairs of ribs joined to the spine.
Secondly, the collection is a tribute to Visconti’s precious internal workmanship, developed throughout the history of the brand. Importantly, it is available in 2 vibrant colors: Ruby red shimmer resin with ruthenium trim, and Sapphire blue shimmer resin with palladium trim. Above all, the Skeleton 2023 collection is limited to 388 pieces worldwide.
In addition, the design of the Skeleton demonstrates one of Visconti’s greatest skills, the artisanal craftsmanship of the cut out filigree from a single tube of solid sterling silver, and the ability to achieve intricate details with absolute precision. Visconti began crafting filigrees back in 1993 with the launch of the Visconti Uffizi and over the years has refined and improved the technique with pens like the Ripple or the Watermark.
Finally, the Skeleton 2023 is available as a fountain pen and rollerball. The fountain pen features Visconti’s in-house 18kt gold nib, available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, and Stub widths. In addition, the fountain pen features Visconti’s famous double reservoir power filling system with a screw on cap. It is presented in a custom Skeleton limited edition box to match the pen.
